Kurt Ubersax

Kurt Ubersax has been working in feature film, television, and live event production for over 30 years. In his capacities, Kurt supervises aspects of concept, budgeting, and implementing creative content, including live and filmed show direction. Selected live event credits include multiple years with The USA Science and Engineering Festival, which broke event attendance records at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC. Other recent live event projects include AnsibleFest for the Linux programming community in both San Francisco and London, England; The National Book Festival hosted by the Library of Congress;  UsAgainstAlzheimer’s Surviving Grace (Starring Marilu Henner and Loni Anderson); Habitat For Humanity’s Carter Work Project week with former President Jimmy Carter; the City of Dallas’ JFK 50th Commemoration at historic Dealey Plaza; and multiple world summits hosted by the United States, including the G8 (-1) Summit at Camp David, The NATO 50th Anniversary in Chicago, The APEC Economies Summit Of World Leaders (4 cities), the first 20-nation Nuclear Security Summit in Washington, DC., and two G-20 World Summits in Washington, DC and Pittsburgh.


Kurt’s credits also encompass many feature films and television shows. Selected Credits include: Executive and Line Producer on the feature film Christmas comedy Elf-Man, released worldwide by Lions Gate Entertainment; as an Assistant Director for On The Basis of Sex (Focus Features), State of Play (Universal), Burn After Reading (Focus Features), The Sentinel (20th Cent. Fox), and Minority Report (Dreamworks), as well as the television shows Designated Survivor (ABC), The Wire (HBO), Law And Order: SVU (NBC); and nine seasons as a field producer with America’s Most Wanted for Fox Television. 


Kurt is a member of both the Producers Guild of America and the Directors Guild of America, and is a graduate of the Directors Guild 2-year Assistant Director/Producer training program.
